The conclusion based on what we can see
nowadays, there is a lot of determining factor why the child abuse happened but
there is no single known cause of child maltreatment nor is there any single
description that captures all families in which children are victims of abuse
and neglect. But we can see that one of the reason can
be the history of the parents itself. Basically, history can be overcome, but the
parents have to make an effort to break the cycle for their children.
Depression - this abuse will typically manifest itself in neglect, but it’s
still an abuse. Also if the child wasn't wanted like a forced pregnancy. This
can foster a lot of resentment towards the child and force lashing out.
One of the factors also can be a financial
problem that the parents have. When their children asked for money and they
could not afford it then it will become a problem where the parents will lashed
out their depression towards their children. Economic aspects were actually one
of the biggest key for a perfect family. Parents should be more responsible
because they play a big role in their own family especially when it comes to
the head of the family.
Killing babies and abortion also can be
classified as child abuse. This kind of acts is prohibited in Islam as stated
in Quran:
"Losers are those who killed their children
foolishly, due to their lack of knowledge, and prohibited what God has provided
for them, and followed innovations attributed to God. They have gone astray,
they are not guided." (6:140).
"You shall not kill your children due to
fear of poverty. We provide for them, as well as for you. Killing them is a
gross offense"(17:31)
What can we do to overcome this problem is
that we should stop forcing people to be parents. If someone really isn't ready
for a child, they really shouldn't have a child. It was clearly stated in Qur’an:
“Do not
go near zina`, for that is surely an abomination and evil
conduct.” (17:32).
The one who loses out isn't the parent, but
the child. Next, it’s better for the society to participate in parenting
classes, before take the responsibility to build a marriage and have a
children. Plus, the government need to revamp the juvenile justice system too.
Often abused children will lash out against society and we will just treat them
like a criminal instead of seeing them as the victims they really are.
We need to understand the meaning of the
Qur’anic verse which stated that a parents need to take a really good care to
their children because the parents were trustee by Allah;
“And let those [executors and guardians] fear [injustice] as if they
[themselves] had left weak offspring behind and feared for them. So let them
fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice.” (4:9)
The most essential solution for this problem
is there must be a strong religion practice before marriage. It is because, if
the parents have a strong understanding in Islamic practice in their daily
life, they can control themselves from doing the bad things to their children
because it was prohibited in Islam which is really contradict with Islamic
teachings.
